Hi Paul, thanks for the video and identifying the two ways of processing (thinking) through business/problem solving. I find myself HEAVY on the intuition side – for those of you that may think I’m being braggadocios – I’m not. In fact, not logically processing to the point of what steps to take after one another means I often find myself swimming in intuition and not executing the grandiose vision I’ve conjured up. Perhaps I can work on becoming more logically speaking…do you suggest getting into programming? 😉
Hey Paul, Great video. I have to admit that I use that intuition more and more these days with running my own business. I used to always look at logic, and with the current state of my industry tapping into intuition has helped me with my business. Logic does play a significant role on day to day tasks and challenges, but intuition has helped focus my company in ways we didn’t think about. Thanks for the video and keep up the great work.
Orphir, thanks for your comment. There are some very “awake” folks who don’t need to work out the logic, but for most of us it’s obviously critical. The problem is overdependence on logical thinking, and the solution is finding the right balance.
Very helpful video Paul!
In reflecting on myself, during and after the video, what I realised is I naturally work with both all the time, however when a decision feels important and I want to ensure I get it right, my fall back tool of choice is logic, exclusively. I also have a similar approach to solving every day challenges for others (using both), but when it comes to important decisions for myself, I fall back to logic exclusively.
I have even told myself (many times), as a way of making sense of wise decisions in the past, that my intuition is probably just a collection of logical thoughts amassed over the years.
I have a few important decisions to make, and so the timing and content of your video series has been just perfect. I am very grateful Paul!
Best wishes,
Joseph
Joseph, that’s a brilliant insight. I find myself doing the same thing unless I pay close attention.
Spot on , I am pleased to see this video on the international platform and acknowledging the importance of this sixth sense. Our inner counsel / sixth sense is very wise. It is our voice that talks us and let’s us know many things. The key parts of the process are to get rid of the chattering monkeys ( voices of others), to learn to trust the inner voice and then act based on what feels right.
Also what is important is to take ownership of that process, slep at night and to have confidence in either challenging those whi challenge you or alternatively , just ignoring, but again your inner ourselves or intuition will guide as to most appropriate decisions and actions. After all it is true, your inner counsel sees what there’s do not, it sees the truth according to your reality where as, how can others see heat you see, they have a different reality. To recognise this, is really important in that process and it takes a while to believe in your inner counsel as opposed to the counsel of others. It can get you in trouble, as I have found, however it is therefore important to enable others to trust as well, to maximise impact. To have others do this makes the journey easier. The book calledShooting the Monkey by Colin Turner is a useful book to read, as it discussed this idea amongst many others, especially the chapter called Shooting the Monkey.
Paul, I’ve followed your “business” work for a while and I love your new direction. I would really like to get on board with this but how do I know my true purpose? I have asked myself this for years but I don’t knowingly feel a gut direction or inspiration. How do I know or find it?
Andrew – wish I could tell you differently, but i don’t believe there’s any way to really know. But that’s okay because there’s another approach. Think “context” versus “content.” Here’s what you can know. You can know if you’re moving in the right direction. You can know if what you’re doing – as a human being – is resonating. Do things feel right? I know this sounds simplistic but there’s enormous power in it. Feel good? You’re moving in the right direction. Feel bad… You’re not.
It’s a start.

You are spot on. Your intuition will never lead you wrong. It is truly your connection to the Source (Universal Energy).
Hi Ray – I’m pretty sure your intuition will lead you where your internal guidance system is programmed to take you. If you’re resonating with something which is “wrong” you’ll head in that “wrong” direction, just as if you tell your car’s nav to take you to the wrong address it will take you there.
So…
You want to line up your intentions with your TRUE PURPOSE, and THEN you can trust your intuition.
Love this! I’m all about making decisions from my intuition.. and sometimes logic tries to hold me back. But when I follow my intuition, the deep gut knowing, amazing things have happened! Thanks for putting it into words!
I know you know this Cathy, but LOGIC can’t hold you back. Logic’s just a tool with neither power nor volition.
You decide where to go, whether it’s forward, back, sideways… Whatever. You make that decision based on LOGIC used to “figure it out” or based on some intuitive hit.
So if you’re held back, it’s YOU holding you back. Right?
The huge opportunity is to use your intuition to get much better information so those “amazing” things can happen!
Paul – how can I be sure I’m following my intuition and not just acting on a whim? Where’s the line of separation? I’m not sure I can answer, but I do know this … there are things that my intuition has told me to do, that I shelved in favor of plodding along with my plan. After watching your video, I’ve decided to take one of them off the shelf and work on it … today.
John – I hope I’m not dodging your question, but I believe it comes down to “trust.” A lot of people easily “trust” their logical analysis, but distrust intuition. Perhaps it takes practice: accept the intuitive information and act on it. Do that a few times and trust builds. My experience is the opposite. After ignoring my intuition so many times with disastrous results, I finally started to accept it as true. LOL… The results are better.
Thank you, and no you didn’t dodge the question. I decided to to trust, tore up my over-analyzed plan, and the way forward has become MUCH clearer and easier.
